Remote employees may live and work in a different state than your company’s location. SecurePayStubs makes it easy to set up accurate pay stubs for them.

Steps to Set Up a Remote Employee

  1. Go to the Employee/Contractor Information section.
  2. Enter the employee’s address as their place of work.
  3. Use the option Calculate taxes & deductions based on a different state if the remote employee’s work state is different from your company’s location.
  1. Select the correct Tax Calculation State from the dropdown list.
  1. SecurePayStubs will apply the appropriate state income tax rules, along with federal tax calculations from the employee’s Form W-4.

Tip: Always confirm which state’s tax laws apply for your remote employees — generally, it’s based on the state where they physically perform their work.
