Remote employees may live and work in a different state than your company’s location. SecurePayStubs makes it easy to set up accurate pay stubs for them.
Steps to Set Up a Remote Employee
- Go to the Employee/Contractor Information section.
- Enter the employee’s address as their place of work.
- Use the option Calculate taxes & deductions based on a different state if the remote employee’s work state is different from your company’s location.

- Select the correct Tax Calculation State from the dropdown list.

- SecurePayStubs will apply the appropriate state income tax rules, along with federal tax calculations from the employee’s Form W-4.
Tip: Always confirm which state’s tax laws apply for your remote employees — generally, it’s based on the state where they physically perform their work.
