SecurePayStubs allows you to enter employee Form W-4 details to ensure federal taxes are withheld correctly. You can choose whether to use the updated 2020 Form W-4 or the older version.
Option 1: Using the 2020 Form W-4
- Check the box “Use 2020 Form W-4 for federal withholding calculation.”

- Enter the employee’s information exactly as listed on their W-4:
- Filing Status (Step 1c)
- Multiple Jobs (Step 2) – enter the amount if applicable
- Dependents Amount (Step 3)
- Other Income (Step 4a)
- Deduction Amount (Step 4b)
- Extra Withholding (Step 4c)
- Select whether the employee is exempt from:
- Federal withholding
- FICA (Social Security)
- Medicare
Option 2: Using the Pre-2020 Form W-4
- Leave the box unchecked for “Use 2020 Form W-4 for federal withholding calculation.”

- Enter the employee’s information as listed on their older W-4 form:
- Filing Status (Box 3)
- Number of Federal Allowances (Box 5)
- Extra Withholding (Box 6)
- Select whether the employee is exempt from:
- Federal withholding
- FICA (Social Security)
- Medicare
